We’ve had a reasonably busy couple of weeks, what with deciding what to tackle next, a little bit of work, driving practise, GETTING MY LICENSE!!, getting a mechanical check, and a bit of recreation…..
So we took the bus down to Diesel Torque – a heavy diesel mechanic (also a friend of the family – bloody legend too…) for a quick once over to spot any potential problems, and he also has an auto-elec that works in the same workshop. We had the a/c gas reclaimed, it wasn’t working and we could only use it with the engine running so it’s gotta go!! So now that’s decommissioned we can start pulling it all out….
The mechanic gave us a pretty clean bill of health, showed me how to maintain all the grease points, and said the only thing is a couple of manifold bolts were missing or snapped off, so that’s another little project to resolve but not too urgent…
I also did my MR driving test and passed with flying colours, so – of course – we took the bus for a day-trip, all on our own down to Rockingham and spent a few hours just chilling out, and waking on the beach….
So it looks like next on the agenda is ripping of the a/c, and then sorting out the manifold bolts….
